Youth Flag Football

Youth Flag Football

Our youth flag football programs for kids are perfect for families who want their young athletes to learn to play one of America’s favorite sports without the same dangerous risks that can lead to head injuries.

This program is geared primarily towards teaching the basics of football to 1st and 2nd graders. For more competition and physical development, we suggest the Tillamook Youth Football program for most 3rd graders. However, if you would like to avoid the contact or don’t believe your player is ready for that level, 3rd graders can still sign up for flag!

The primary difference between flag football and tackle is that flag is a “no contact” game. Like tackle football, teams run or pass the ball down field in order to score a touchdown. Instead of tackling the ball carrier, defensive players attempt to pull the flags off the ball carrier’s belt. Once a flag is pulled, the player is considered “down”.

Season Dates: August 26th – October 19th

There will be 2 practices a week with 8 man games coming in the second half of the season. Practices times and days are up to the coaches availability. Games will be on Wednesday evenings.

Cost: $65 member/ $80 non-member

Cost will be the same as last year, no increase! All players will get a football jersey with their names on them! As always, financial burdens should not ever be a barrier to involvement in sports! Reach out to Caleb Haynes, Y Sports Director if you need any assistance!
