Since word “went viral” that Kaylan from the Y gave his notice of resignation, the big question has been: Who is taking his place?
In short: we’ve discovered that it’s really quite the process and we won’t have an answer for sometime.
To keep our facility members and friends in the community “in the loop” we have created this space to provide regular updates along the way. As of right now here is what we do know:
- As an Association of the YMCA of the USA we are able to tap into resources that support the hiring process from start to finish.
- A committee of board members and community representatives has been assembled to be the key points of contact during the search process.
- YMCA of the USA will support the process of generating the job description and posting the job nationally.
- When the job is posted we will be sure to announce it and share the link so local interested applicants can also apply!
- YMCA of the USA will also aide in reviewing, screening, and vetting applicant resumes.
- This is estimated to be roughly a six month process from start to finish.
Currently the search committee is providing information as needed to our support team at Y-USA and is looking froward to crafting a job description for a leader that continues to meet the social, recreational, and wellness needs of our community!
